Frustrations with Buono!

Posted in °C-ute, Berryz Koubou, Hello!Project, Hello!Project Kids at 6:27 pm by aiwish472

Not too long ago, zush over at Berryz Koubou International wrote about Buono’s recent fanclub DVD release. You can see that post here. While I don’t have any problems with zush or his blog, I am disturbed by the content of that DVD.

What on earth is “hip wrestling?” I have no idea as to what it is, but I’m sure there’s some sort of innuendo in there that wotas find irresistible. The members of Buono! are bumping each other in the rear end with the bums of their own. For goodness sake, they’re so young, and they’re doing something like THAT? I am absolutely astonished!

This “hip wrestling” is another example of Hello!Project catering to wotas. Okay, fine. So UFA knows who is buying their products, and they’re trying to make as much money as they can by selling what wotas want. But there’s a difference between making “money with morals in mind,” and “exploiting employees.” Exploiting may be too harsh of a word here — I’m sure they could be much worse — but there’s something wrong with this picture, suggestions aside.

I don’t like Buono! in general. Buono! can release ♥ ☺ ♫ ~kawaii~ ♫ ☺ ♥ videos, photos, and other extras like that, but when it comes to music, they’re the rockin’ badasses of Hello!Project? It doesn’t work like that. They should pick one style to sport, and stick with it, as all the other groups have done.

This is not to mention that as Hello! Project Kids (and not necessarialy Buono! members), I strongly dislike Miyabi and Airi, and simply detest Momoko.

Miyabi is one of the three members of Berryz that always get leads, so she ticks me off for that reason. I’m one of those Hello!Project fans that cheers on the underdogs. But at least she looks her age, and acts like it (for the most part…).

Airi gets far too many lines in the C-ute songs, but I’ve heard she tries extra hard. Kudos. I guess.

There are three simple reasons why I don’t like Tsugunaga.

1. Her voice.

2. Her actions.

3. Her looks.

Momoko has a  squeaky, excessively high, helium-infested style singing voice, and gets another 1/3 of the lines in Berryz Koubou songs. WHY? Why can’t Tsunku give Momo’s lines to a good singer, like… Yurina? 😀 Or Maasa or Saki. I would even love to hear more Chinami, whose voice still has a high range, yet is pretty and bearable. Unlike Miyabi and Airi, Momoko doesn’t look nor act her age. Sure, all idols act younger than they really are. But Momoko does this to the extreme. Jumping around and squealing and giggling… I don’t buy it. Even if she does look (and sound!) less than half her age. I can’t stand the fact that she’s 16 and looks like a six-year-old. She’s not cute, she’s not funny, she’s not anything except annoying.

How about next time when Tsunku feels the need to make a rock group, he puts together Yurina Kumai, Sayaka Kitahara, and Maasa Sudou? Now that would be cool. They could pull it off.

This is the final straw – Buono is officialy my least favorite Hello! Project group.

聖なる鐘がひびく夜 ~the bells of St. Mary’s version~

Posted in Birthday, Classic Film, Ingrid Bergman at 7:26 am by aiwish472

Today is August 29.

Today is a day of happiness and joy.

On this day in 1915 – 93 years ago, a little baby named Ingrid Bergman was born.

Baby Ingrid would grow up to be one of the most popular and respected actresses of the 1940s, and one of the greatest actresses of all time.

Nobody probably cares, but this is my blog and I’ll write about what I feel like. XD Buahaha.

…I have 1,864 pictures in my Vintage folder. It’s 313 MB, but since my computer can’t handle that much, I can no longer open it on its own. In other words, I can’t open the folder in Windows Explorer and browse or open things from there. It just turns all white and freezes on me. D:

Instead, I must go into some program and use the open function there, do ye see?

I should organize it.

I like Junjun.

A look back at…the 2001 fanclub singles.

Posted in Hello!Project, J-Pop, Morning Musume, Music at 10:49 pm by aiwish472

In 2001, the Hello!Project fanclub released 10 singles, known as the “fanclub singles.” What a lovely title for them. Each Morning Musume member had their own special solo single, containing one song and a message from the member. The singles get their titles from the members’ names, with each song title taking a few sounds from the particular member’s name. Apart from that, I don’t know very much about these. What I do know is that most of these singles are really good, and so I’ll be reviewing them today.

Blogging About Blogging

Posted in Blog, Uncategorized at 11:38 pm by aiwish472

I don’t quite know how to start this entry. There’s a lot of things I want to say, but they’re all jumbled up in my head and I don’t know how to set them up. I’ll give it a try: I’ve been thinking about this blog lately. Not just it, but you. You, as in, the readers of this blog. I feel like ever since I wrote that post about a declining interest in Hello! Project, my readership has just vanished. I’ve still gotten a few comments since the day I wrote that post, but the amount of activity I’ve gotten in July isn’t anywhere near the amount that this blog got in June.

My intent of writing this is not to sound selfish. I don’t write for readership — entirely. In a way, I do. I like to express my opinions, and then discuss the topic with others. That’s why I reply to comments when necessary. So to everyone who has commented, recently or ever, thank you. It’s appreciated very much.

I think that the lack of activity is in large part due to International Wota. No, no, I’m not trying to sound harsh or mean or superior, I merely want to understand something. The “桜の花びらたちが はらはら” post, also known as the one about losing interest in H!P, was the last one that was covered there, and it was on June 29. Has this blog been ignored because my interest in Hello!Project is dwindling? Is it because I write about things other than Japanese music? So only two of the entries this month have been J-Pop related. I like something more than J-Music now. That still doesn’t seem like a reason to ignore my writing.  I don’t expect you to mention all of my posts, that’s silly. If they’re not written well enough, okay, I’ll until next time. If they’re not related to Asian music, I don’t expect them to be covered in the least, and that goes without saying. But…what about the things I did write that related to Asian music?

Any other reason?

If I must, let this be the fork in the road. I’m hesitant to do so, but I suppose I could create two new blogs: One for music, one for classic stuff. Is that what it will take? I was hoping that this blog would see its first “birthday,” especially since September 15 is the day before another, more important, special birthday, but…

Please explain, someone… 😦

The Thin Man

Posted in Asta, Classic Film, Myrna Loy, Review, William Powell at 3:07 am by aiwish472

I was a fan of The Thin Man before I even watched it. It was all because of Asta, the little terrier who you’ll fall in love with at first glance. Promotional pictures featuring him are just too cute. I don’t remember where I first saw or heard of Asta…it wasn’t in Bringing Up Baby, which was the first movie I saw that featured Asta. Regardless, I saw him somewhere, and looked around for more information. I came across an Asta fansite. When the site wasn’t talking about Asta, it was mentioning three things: The Thin Man, William Powell, and Myrna Loy.

Although I had become a fan of Asta quickly, I didn’t bother to find out anything about The Thin Man right away. Why I didn’t is beyond me…I was beginning to become a fan of Loy, too. I finally watched the movie after a joke about terriers and Asta at dinner one night, and I am so glad that I did.

I have a new blog! It’s very different from this one in the manner that it’s for my graphic work. I will not be closing or pausing activity at Amasugita Kajitsu. This one will remain here for actual writing… like I said, the other is for graphics only. Please stop by at . Thank you very much! 😀

Why I Love Gocchin

Posted in Hello!Project, Maki Goto at 10:19 pm by aiwish472

To be quite honest, I don’t know.

There’s just something about her as a Maki as a singer and a person that makes her wonderful. She revolutionized Morning Musume when she joined at 13 in 1999, adding a sort of youthfulness that the other members didn’t have. Sales shot up when she joined, and slowly began to take a turn for the worst when she left. She’s not sickeningly sweet, but the thought of Maki being mean never crosses my mind, either. Her face isn’t perfect; she has a wider nose than most. She’s good, but she’s not an amazing singer… while some are much better than others, no member of Hello! Project truly is.

She puts on a show, but it’s not extravagant.

I think I like Maki because there’s an aura of realness about her, especially compared to other Hello! Project members. She’s not extreme anything. She’s one of the most neutral, boring members to join Morning Musume. But she’s a good singer, and that makes up for everything she lacks.

She could improve, but any known figure could. My goodnish, any person on this earth, you, me, famous or not, could improve themselves.

There is no reason to like her. She’s just Gocchin, and that’s fine with me.
