Firstly, I would like to say that I am sorry for not posting in a while. I’ve been quite busy, and I’ve been doing a lot with this post.

I was going to do this at the end of the year, but I feel like doing it now.

In 2007, I became a huge Hello!Project fan. Although I discovered it in August 2006, I wasn’t really obsessed until later. I’ve downloaded tons of H!P stuff, photobooks included. Today, I’m going to write about my favorite Hello!Project photobooks (in countdown form).

9. Michishige Sayumi – Doukei

I heard that Miki Fujimoto said on her radio show that Sayu really isn’t playful and cute, but quite serious when she’s away from the camera. This PB displays Sayumi’s real personality very well. I loved the pictures of her in the red dress (in a way it reminded me of Maki Goto’s “Foxy Fungo”).

The pictures of her in a kimono were also nice. I really liked the one where she was holding the pink flower:

But of course, it wouldn’t be a Sayumi photobook if it had no cute pics. This one deserves a caption that says “ehe!”

This picture really stood out to me for some reason:

8. Kago Ai and Tsuji Nozomi – TsujiKago

This photobook is what those two were all about. It showed the two top being the best friends they are, with a huge dose of kawaii on the side. I loved how it showed them doing a bunch of different things, whether it was Aibon blowing kisses…

Tsuji scooping sphagetti….

Or both girls driving a huge panda.

What better way to remember how these two scored on the Bakajo test than with a picture of them being silly at school?

There’s one more pic I have to share, then I’ll move on. This one made me laugh when I first saw it, and it still amuses me.

7. Tsuji Nozomi – Nono

I love Nonbon! I also like this photobook, but I can’t put my finger on why. Here are some of my favorite images:

6. Berryz Koubou – Seazonz

I think the whole “seasons” theme of this is really cool. All 8 (well, there were eight at the time) Berryz appeared in this book. Every Berry had their own page, but there were group pictures and duos as well.

Here they are in the summer at the beach:

And in the summer wearing yukata (Summer Kimono) :

Momoko and Chinami going for a walk in autumn:

My favorite Berry, Yurina, showing us a snowball in the winter:

Also included are the girls at school and in a field during the spring.

5. Ogawa Makoto – Ogawa Makoto Photobook

That’s my favorite picture from the book, and one of many silly images.

One goofy pic is the one where Mako looks every which way.

And the one where she laughs after a meal.

How about the one where she’s drinking milk? It really fits with that cow one. xD

Or the one where Makochan is hugging a huge elephant?

There are a few serious ones, like this one…

And this one, which is simply beautiful.

4. Matsuura Aya – Matsuura Aya 1st Photobook

Where to start…I’ll start with my favorite part. My favorite part of this photobook is where they show the filming of some Ayaya PVs. One is Doki Doki Love Mail…

The other is Love Namida Iro.

This book features Aya in various locations from Japan and around the world. My favorite section of those would be the Yokohama one. I really like this picture of Aya in Yokohama:

This one is nice too.

I didn’t like the “Aya in Guam” section as much as I liked the others, but this picture is adorable:

Ooh, top 3…!

3. Yoshizawa Hitomi – 8teen

Yossie, Yossie, Yossie. I love you.

If we look at the backgrounds, a lot of the pictures in this PB seem to have some sort of a blandness about them. But Hitomi and the things she does in this photobook really brighten them up. The pictures in this PB really portray Yossie’s personality well.

This picture shows her funniness (balancing a piece of grass on her lip).

This picture shows her being a tomboy.

Instead of a photobook like those of all the other Hello!Project girls, doing something ubercutesy like eating ice cream or dancing on the beach or something like that, Yocchan does other things.

But there are still beach shots…

And risque-esque shots.

And cute ones, too.

In conclusion, 8teen is really different, yet really similar to the other H!P photobooks. Whichever way you look at it, it’s one of the best.

2. Kago Ai – Go on the Journey

This photobook takes us through Aibon’s journey to somewhere. It’s kind of like the Berryz PB I mentioned earlier, with a set theme, the Berryz one being seasons and Kago’s being travel. I like the photobooks with a theme. =)

It starts with Aibon at the beach, having fun.

Then she leaves the beach, and goes off on her bike.

A while later, there are photos of Ai standing on top of something (a building or a dock, I assume), feeling a breeze. I really like these pictures.

I also love the pictures where there are two Kagos (<3), like this one:

I can almost hear her saying “oh no!” in this cute pic where she gets lost:

I think the colors used in this picture are wonderful:

After the bus comes, Kago-chan and her teddy bear go off to a hotel.

And then she’s off…

But manages to get lost again. xD

There are lots of nice close-ups throughout the book, too.

And the moment you’ve all been waiting for, my favorite Hello!Project photobook is…

Miki Fujimoto – Cheri

Miki may not be my favorite member, but she is very beautiful, and this photobook is a work of art. When I look through this PB, I don’t see the kawaii “Mikitty” as I have in her past ones, but the real “Miki Fujimoto.”

The greyscale pictures are classy and lovely.

Even in the ones where we don’t see Miki’s face.

In this photobook, she’s not a young girl. She’s a mature woman.

Typically, I’m not a fan of bikini shots. But this book is an exception.

In one picture, it looked almost as if she was in some sort of fantasy land.

Some pictures displayed Miki’s personality especially well. This one comes to mind:

Some didn’t…but that’s okay.

Other favorite photos include:

Honorable Mentions:

Maki Goto – Dear…

Morning Musume – Chain! Chain! Chain!

Reina Tanaka – Reina
